Custom software for real businesses

Stop renting software
that almost fits.

We build exactly what your business needs — in weeks, not years. Then you own it. Forever. No more monthly fees for tools built for someone else.

Can't describe the fix, only the pain? Start with a $500 Blueprint — we'll figure it out with you.

Sound familiar?

The software you use
wasn't built for you.

"We need one small change. They said Q3."

Legacy software vendors run on their roadmap, not yours. Every request joins a queue that moves at their pace — not your business's.

"We pay for 40 features and use four."

You're subsidising features built for other industries while your actual needs get shoehorned into whatever template exists.

"The team built workarounds for the workarounds."

Three spreadsheets, a WhatsApp group, and a whiteboard aren't a system. They're a sign the software isn't doing its job.

"We've paid more in fees than a build would've cost."

Five years at $500/month is $30,000 — usually enough to have owned purpose-built software outright from day one.

Don't know what you need yet?

Start with a Blueprint.

Most people don't come to us with a spec. They come with a mess — a process that takes too long, software that fights them, a nagging feeling that this should be easier. That's normal. That's what the Blueprint is for.

We get on a call. You talk, we ask questions, and we dig into how your business actually runs — in plain English, no jargon. Then we go away and write it all up: the problem as we see it, the solution we'd build, what it costs, and how long it takes.

The plan is yours to keep. It's a real working document, not a sales pitch — you can hand it to us, another developer, or nobody at all. And if we think you don't need custom software, we'll say so in writing. Sometimes the honest answer is "keep the spreadsheet."

$500. Flat.

That's the whole price. And if you build with us afterwards, the full $500 comes off your build — so the Blueprint effectively costs nothing.

How fast is fast?

Weeks.
Not years.

What used to require months of procurement, vendor negotiations, and implementation now takes weeks. Modern tooling has changed the economics of custom software — significantly.

Simpler tools can occasionally be live in days. Most real business systems — the kind that replace something you're currently paying for — take a few weeks. Either way, you're looking at a fraction of the time it took to get your current software up and running.

Who you're talking to

Two people.
No account managers.

Forge is Soham Adwani and Ships Lim — the same two people behind Otterdev, where our team has shipped work for companies like Porsche, BMW, Netflix, and HBO.

Soham is the technical brain. He's the one on your call asking the annoying questions, and the one designing your solution afterwards. Ships makes sure everything we promise actually ships — on time, at the price we quoted.

When you book a call, you get us. Not a sales team, not a project coordinator, not someone "circling back." The people who scope your software are the people who build it.

We're based in Singapore (GMT+8) — our mornings overlap with Asia and Australia, our evenings with Europe and the US. Wherever you are, the calls work.

Questions

Straight answers.

What do I actually get for the $500 Blueprint?
A call with both of us where we dig into how your business actually runs, followed by a written plan: the problem as we see it, the solution we'd build, a fixed quote, and a realistic timeline. It's a real working document you can act on — with us or with anyone else. If you build with us, the full $500 is credited against your build, so it effectively costs nothing.
What if you think I don't need custom software?
Then we'll tell you, in writing. Sometimes the honest answer is an off-the-shelf tool, or a better way of using what you already pay for. The Blueprint will say so if that's true — it's a plan, not a sales funnel. Spending $500 to avoid spending $20,000 on the wrong thing is a good trade.
How long does a build actually take?
It depends on what you need built. Simpler tools — a rota system, a basic tracker — can be live in a couple of weeks. More involved systems with integrations, user roles, and custom logic typically take four to eight weeks. We scope everything upfront and give you a clear timeline before any work begins. No surprises.
What happens if something breaks after you build it?
Our Care plan covers exactly this — hosting, security patches, and bug fixes for a small monthly fee. We recommend every client stays on Care so they're never left stranded. If you choose not to, you still own the code and can take it to any developer to maintain.
Do I really own the software?
Yes, completely. When the build is done, all source code is yours. You can host it wherever you want, have any developer work on it, and take it in any direction. There is no vendor lock-in, ever. This is not a SaaS product — it is software built specifically for your business.
How much does a build typically cost?
Builds start from $5,000 depending on scope and complexity. Most small business tools land between $5,000 and $25,000. The Care plan starts from $250/month and the Grow plan from $1,500/month. We always provide a fixed, itemised quote before any work begins — no surprises.
What kinds of tools do you build?
Inventory trackers, staff rota systems, job management tools, customer portals, order management, reporting dashboards, booking systems, and more. If you have a process that relies on spreadsheets, WhatsApp messages, or software you have outgrown, we can almost certainly build something better.
Do I need to be technical to work with you?
Not at all. We work with business owners, warehouse managers, operations leads, and shop owners who just know what they need their software to do. You describe the problem in your own words. We handle everything technical — design, development, testing, and launch — and explain it back to you in plain English.
Can you replace software we already use?
Yes, and this is often the exact brief. We can build a replacement for tools you are currently paying for, migrate your data across, and match or improve on the features you actually use. Many clients cut their monthly software spend significantly within the first year.
